With its instantly recognisable serpentine form, resembling perhaps a snake or maybe referencing the twisting shape of a flame, this medium-sized stainless steel candle holder has gained status as an iconic piece of Scandinavian design. It makes a striking centre-piece for a dining table on its own but looks even more dramatic when grouped with others of different sizes or colours.

Georg Jensen’s famous Cobra collection of candlesticks, carafes, and tableware is one of its most popular. German-born designer Constantin Wortmann believes that ‘form follows emotions’ and strives to create products that elicit an emotional response from the user and should always have an element of humour and joy. The candle holder is masterfully crafted from mirror-polished stainless steel.

Since its introduction in 2008, the COBRA line has been a resounding success, with its smoothness and weight apparent. Designer Constantin Wortmann set out to make a traditional candleholder for today. Like the mystical snake that inspired it, it can be hard to look away from COBRA candlesticks, particularly when arranged in pairs or threes. It is reminiscent of an antique candlestick in its substantial weight and height, has voluptuous, gravity defying curves rendered in mirror polished stainless steel. The irresistible candlesticks are now available in three different sizes so that you can turn your table.
